Personalized Consultations

Individual in-person or online therapy and coaching

More than talking - a full-body one-on-one approach to personal growth.

What is therapy?

Therapy is more than just addressing problems; it's an opportunity to explore your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations in a supportive, safe space. At its core, therapy is about building a trusting relationship where you can truly be seen, heard, and understood. This therapeutic bond is essential - it’s through this connection that tranformation takes place. Our approach combines talking with somatic practices, recognizing that experiences are lived in relation to others, and that healing takes place within the context of a secure, compassionate relationship. Whether you’re navigating the landscape of trauma or seeking more balance, looking to manage your panic attacks and anxiety or relationship issues, dealing with big life changes or trying to avoid another burnout, therapy helps you reconnect with yourself, build resilience, and face life’s challenges with clarity and strength.

Who is this for?

Somatic therapy and coaching isn’t just for when you’re struggling, it’s also for when you want to grow. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, life changes, or seeking a deeper connection with yourself, this can be a powerful tool for lasting change. While we offer support when you’re facing mental health challenges, we also work with you when you want to break old patterns, create new ones, and live more fully.

Who is welcome?

In our sessions, you can expect a supportive and safe space where we move at your pace. It is of the outmost importance to us that everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, identity, or background, feels valued, respected, and free to be themselves! Everything shared in our sessions is completely confidential, and we are committed to providing a non-judgmental, inclusive safe space where you feel truly seen and supported.

How do we work?

Our ethical, empathetic and professional approach recognizes that emotional, spiritual and physical experiences are deeply connected. We talk but at the same time focus on working with your nervous system and body, expanding your capacity and window of tolerance so that life’s challenges become easier to navigate. Through this structured approach, we help you build resilience and create lasting change in how you handle stress, anxiety, panic attacks and ups and downs of life.

How frequent?

Somatic therapy and coaching sessions typically last 50 minutes. In the beginning, we recommend weekly sessions, but the frequency really depends on the individual and their needs. Our first sessions focus on getting to know you, understanding your resources, and exploring areas you'd like support in. Once we’ve established a strong therapeutic bond, we’ll dive deeper into the process, which will be adapted to work at a pace that feels right for you.

What is the duration?

This is not a quick fix. It’s a journey. We’re here to walk alongside you with the tools, guidance, and support needed to create meaningful transformation in your life. Whether you want to heal from past experiences and relationships, create new ways of thinking and being, or simply live a more authentic life, we are here. We can't promise specific results within a set time, but with commitment, personal growth is inevitable.

How are sessions held?

We offer both online therapy and sessions in-person in Lourinhã, Portugal. If you’re joining us online, don't worry about missing out on the somatic work - we adapt the format to ensure that even through a screen, we can still engage with your body and emotions fully. We believe that the therapeutic experience should feel as real and connected as possible, no matter the distance. Our sessions are available in English, Portuguese, or Slovenian.

In our sessions, we integrate:

  • Biointegrative Somatic Psychotherapy is a holistic approach that integrates the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of healing. Drawing on the work of David Boadella, Wilhelm Reich, Pierre Janet, and insights into pre- and peri-natal experiences, it focuses on the interconnectedness of the body and mind.

This method recognizes that emotions, thoughts, and trauma are deeply linked to physical sensations. By tuning into the body's natural signals, clients can release tension, trauma, and unresolved emotions, helping them restore balance and regain alignment.

The core belief of this approach is that every individual possesses the internal resources for healing. It encourages clients to reconnect with these resources - whether memories, strengths, internal beliefs or relationships - to foster growth and healing.

The approach is particularly effective for trauma, emotional difficulties, psychosomatic issues, and life transitions. It's not just for those in crisis, but for anyone looking to break old patterns, live more fully, and reconnect with their true self.

  • Coaching is a guided, supportive process that helps you move from where you are to where you want to be - with more clarity, confidence, and compassion for yourself along the way.

At Inner Harmonies, coaching is more than setting goals and making plans. It’s about creating a space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters to you. Whether you’re navigating a life transition, feeling stuck, or simply longing for more ease and direction in your daily life, our coaching sessions meet you where you are.

Together, we explore what’s beneath the surface - the beliefs, patterns, and emotions that may be shaping your experience. Through honest conversation, gentle guidance, and embodied presence, we help you access your inner resources and move forward with greater resilience and self-awareness.

We blend traditional coaching with deep listening and mind-body connection, so your transformation isn’t just mental - it’s felt in your whole being.

  • The need for coming back in contact with our bodies is becoming increasingly apparent. Bodywork offers a non-dogmatic approach with numerous additional benefits, where focus is given to the inner experience rather than the external form. It emphasises curiousity and enquiry into the felt experience on a moment-by-moment basis. It helps develop greater bodily awareness, enabling you to identify and process physical manifestations of stress or trauma. By working directly with the nervous system through practices such as grounding, body scans, and mindfulness, somatic therapy facilitates the release of stored tension and trauma. This empowers you to manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges more effectively while building tools for long-term self-regulation. Ultimately, this approach promotes emotional balance, resilience, and overall well-being.

  • Complementary and alternative medicine practices form an integral cornerstone of our holistic approach, enriching the therapeutic journey by addressing the mind, body, and spirit in unison. Together with you, we take the time to carefully evaluate your unique needs, crafting a personalized plan that draws upon a diverse array of transformative techniques. These include the vibrational resonance of sound healing, the expressive liberation of art, dance, and music, the grounding and reflective practices of meditation and yoga, the imaginative power of visualization and guided imagery, and the introspective clarity fostered through journaling. By weaving these and many more modalities into your journey, we aim to create a deeply immersive and restorative experience that nurtures balance, creativity, and inner harmony.

  • We pride ourselves in having been able to adopt a trauma-informed approach to health and care interventions. Our practices are grounded in the understanding that trauma exposure can impact an individual’s neurological, biological, psychological and social development. We acknowledge the need to see beyond an individual’s presenting behaviours and to ask, ‘What does this person need?’ rather than ‘What is wrong with this person?’.

The transformative benefits therapy can offer:

  • Greater emotional balance and resilience

  • Improved relationships with yourself and others

  • Increased self-awareness, body-awareness and clarity

  • Expanded nervous system capacity to handle life’s challenges

  • Empowerment to break old patterns and create new ones

  • A non-judgmental safe space to explore personal growth

 FAQs

  • Somatic psychotherapy is for everyone and is not specific for one type of person or problem. If you’re looking for an approach that doesn’t just focus on talking but also works with the body and nervous system, somatic psychotherapy might be a good fit. It’s especially effective for stress, trauma, emotional regulation, and anyone wanting a deeper mind-body connection.

  • That’s completely okay. Many people start therapy without having a clear goal. Together, we will explore what’s coming up for you and gently uncover the areas that need attention. You don’t have to have the ‘right’ words—just come as you are. I’ll meet you there.

  • We understand that life happens, but we ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or reschedules. Missed appointments or late cancellations will be charged.

  • Yes. It’s a no-pressure space to see if we’re a good fit. You’re not committing to anything beyond this one call. It is your time to ask anything that helps you feel more comfortable and informed and it is our time to explain how everything works. Most of all, this call is a great opportunity to see if we’re a good fit. During it, we’ll also discuss what next steps feel right for you - whether it’s booking a first session, receiving a reflection, or taking time to think.

  • Yes, I believe support should be accessible. Let me know during the consultation if cost is a concern—we can talk about options.

  • Unfortunately it's hard to tell - there can be moments where it's easy to get an appointment quite soon, however there could be periods  of time when there is a longer waiting period, and even a waiting list.

  • No. We have a private practice and don’t work with state or insurance companies.

  • At this time, we focus exclusively on supporting adults. While we don’t work directly with children or teens, we believe deeply in the importance of their wellbeing - and sometimes the best way to support them is by supporting the adults in their lives. If you're a parent or caregiver seeking support, you're very welcome here.
